Introduction :

In the digital age, where information flows freely on the internet, blogging has emerged as a popular means of sharing knowledge, experiences, and stories. Many aspiring bloggers are eager to embark on this exciting journey, but they often find themselves at a crossroads when it comes to acquiring the necessary skills and know-how. The first thing that comes to their mind is to enter some blogging courses, which promise to be the guiding light for these enthusiastic writers. But are those blogging courses really worth the investment of time and money?

In this article, we’ll explore the pros and cons of blogging courses to help you make an informed decision. I came across many posts from aspiring Bloggers on Social media asking this question “Are Blogging Courses really worth it?”  This ignited me to write this article and give them an abundance of information that they require.

The Blogging Boom :

Before we dive into the worthiness of blogging courses, it’s essential to understand why blogging has gained such prominence in the recent past. Blogging has evolved beyond personal diaries into powerful tools for businesses, influencers, and experts to connect with their audience. Here are a few key reasons why blogging has become a force to reckon with:

Expression and Creativity:

Blogging provides an avenue for individuals to express themselves and unleash their creativity. It allows writers to share their thoughts, experiences, and expertise on a wide range of topics, from travel and lifestyle to niche subjects like cryptocurrency or gourmet cooking.  Not all people are outspoken enough to be able to make YouTube videos and appear in public expressing their thoughts by way of presentations and takes.   Introverts with an abundance of writing skills who want to communicate a lot of things t the readers find Blogging an ideal platform to express their creativity without even showing their face.

Digital Marketing:

For businesses, blogs have become an integral part of their digital marketing strategy. It’s a way to engage with customers, showcase expertise, and improve search engine rankings, ultimately driving organic traffic to their websites.  Blogsites have become the easiest way to own a site and display business-related information, content, products, and services that can reach people in seconds through the Internet.  The best part is popularising their business with zero investment is where Blogging stands out from other types of business wherein the initial investment itself is so much that one can hardly imagine taking up.

Income Generation:

Many successful bloggers have turned their passion into a profitable venture. Through monetization strategies such as affiliate marketing, sponsored content, and selling digital products, bloggers can generate substantial income.  Who does not want to earn money without investing a single penny in a platform that provides free business opportunities?   Google AdSense goes a long way in paying way for unlimited earnings for those who utilize Blogging in the most efficient manner.   This makes almost every new blogger think only about how to monetize their website and what knowledge or skills are required to be successful in monetizing the website.

Blogging backed by AI Evolution :

Needless to mention the craze behind aspirant bloggers is to take up Blogging as their business with all the support that they are able to get from the emerging AI revolution.  Yes I mean the Chat GPT revolution that has changed the Blogging world to new heights.  Every third person in this world wants to earn money from Blogging by producing AI-generated outputs.   This is because the AI Revolution has almost replaced humans by performing all activities right from finding the best Niche, selecting the topic, choosing the Meta description, SEO Keywords, and writing the most unique article.   But the fact is that not all people become successful because they lack ethical usage of AI tools.   A thorough knowledge of intelligent prompt engineering is very much required for sustained growth in the blogging business.

The Appeal of Blogging Courses :

Now that we’ve established the significance of blogging let’s discuss why individuals consider enrolling in blogging courses.

Structured Learning:

Blogging courses offer a structured approach to learning the art of blogging. They provide step-by-step guidance, helping beginners understand the fundamentals of content creation, SEO, and audience engagement.  An easy tutorial or a day-wise learning makes them easy to learn rather than scratching their head in finding and learning themselves by hit and try.

Expert Guidance :

Many blogging courses are curated by experienced bloggers or industry experts. This means students can benefit from the wisdom and insights of those who have already walked the path to successful blogging.  Infect courses are there for “how to start the right course”?   This makes every blogger curious about learning the nitty grittiness of Blogging.

Accelerated Growth :

By enrolling in a blogging course, aspiring bloggers can fast-track their progress. Courses often compress years of trial and error into a few months of intensive learning, potentially saving time and resources.  Time-based courses are also available such that even a working professional can learn blogging by just spending a few minutes daily from their schedule.   In this way, they can have accelerated growth and have a side hustle to make some extra money.

The Controversy Surrounding Blogging Courses :

While the appeal of blogging courses is undeniable, there is an ongoing debate regarding their true value.

The Overabundance of Information:

The internet is brimming with free resources on blogging. From YouTube tutorials to blogs and forums, there is no shortage of information for those willing to seek it. Some argue that paying for a course is unnecessary when the same knowledge is readily available for free. But the fact is that most of the paid courses also do not contain up-to-date information or the quality content that is required for a new Blogger.   Hence, they are in a confused state about whether or not to go in for a paid course.  Some may go in search of a particular topic and some may seek to learn the entire blogging from scratch.

While most of the courses are on a chargeable basis, some pro Bloggers offer to share their experience and pitfalls by way of e-books and tutorials which when followed will sure to take you to success.

AdSense approval is one such important topic that most bloggers are struggling to get.  Even after repeated submissions, their website is being rejected due to various reasons.   As a pro Blogger, I chose to write this wonderful E-book containing an easy step-by-step guide for getting AdSense approval which includes a checklist before submission to AdSense.

Cookie-Cutter Approach :

Critics also argue that blogging courses may promote a one-size-fits-all approach to blogging. Every blogger is unique, and what works for one may not work for another. Following a rigid course structure may stifle individual creativity.  This is more so in the case of the majority of YouTube videos detailing several topics of Blogging on how to go about it.  Blindly following every Video not only creates confusion but also a hurdle for their learning, as they follow the steps without knowing why they are doing so.   It’s always better to follow Pro and experienced bloggers and keep them as mentors in learning things with attention to detail.

No Guaranteed Success :

Enrolling in a blogging course does not guarantee success. Blogging requires consistent effort, dedication, and adaptability and out of all sincerity.  Some may expect instant results after completing a course, only to be disappointed when success does not materialize as quickly as they hoped. Adding fuel to the fire, most of the Short-cut Bloggers with an aim to boast themselves with their earnings, make numerous videos asking others to take those shortcuts.  I have seen many YouTube videos wherein they openly explain how to copy and paste articles from other websites.   One of the most common copy paste Niche is the “News channel” Niche.  I can bet that 90 percent of the Articles are copy pasted news from other sites and by adding some tits and bits they publish the news as if they are the originators.   Readers also fall victim to these artificial news spreaders and by virtue of shortcuts these bloggers earn enormous money within a short period of time and this makes them crazy in releasing more and more viral videos showing their success.

The Final Verdict :

So, are blogging courses worthy investments, or are they simply a way for instructors to profit from aspiring bloggers? The answer lies in your individual goals, potential thinking, learning style, and financial situation.

If you are someone who thrives in a structured learning environment, values expert guidance, and is willing to invest in your blogging journey, then a blogging course may be a worthwhile investment subject to you following the guidelines strictly. It can provide you with essential skills, shortcuts, and a supportive community of fellow bloggers.

However, if you are a self-motivated learner, comfortable with sifting through free resources, and eager to carve your unique path in the blogosphere, you may find that blogging courses are not a necessary expense. Remember that blogging success hinges on your dedication, consistency, and the value you provide to your audience. The more value you provide to your audience by way of presenting some unique content,  the more loyal and true will they be in reading your content.

To be frank, I have not joined any blogging course, but only followed the footpaths of some of the famous Pro Bloggers and studied their wavelength in understanding and following the sequence of blogging success.  I am happy that today I am being considered as a Mentor by many aspirant bloggers, who constantly get in touch with me to learn the tips and tricks for which I charge nothing.   It has to be remembered that instead of making a competition with your fellow bloggers if you concentrate on helping more people, you are sure to get into the books of a Pro Blogger one day.

Conclusion :

Blogging courses can be valuable tools for some, but they are not a guaranteed ticket to success. The worthiness of such courses ultimately depends on your individual circumstances and preferences. Regardless of your choice, remember that the journey of a blogger is marked by continuous learning, growth, and the unwavering commitment to sharing your voice with the world. Happy blogging!
